The Perfect Match for Your Boyfriend Blazer!

September 30, 2009

As I was getting dressed this morning, I realized that I had the boyfriend blazer (check!) and the fashionable leggings with grommets on the ankles (check!) and cute black booties (check!), but I didn’t have the neccessary attire to wear under the blazer. I tried a long white tank, too scandalous for work. I tried a grey dress, too flowy to wear under the blazer…I was at a loss…I went online and immediately found these great mini dresses on Target.com. I purchased one in every color and my total came to $40.50!! Can’t beat that!!
Bonus: That’s 3 for the price of 1 (almost) identical piece at American Apparel!
Check them out!! I know they look very tight fitting, but don’t worry, your blazer will cover most of it up. I also went a size up, just in case!! HAPPY SHOPPING!!

Permanent Makeup- Is it for you?

September 29, 2009

I was at a family event this past weekend and all the women were talking about tattooed makeup. My ears perked up as I listened to them talk about the “permanent” (lasts about 7 years) eyeliner and eyebrows they got tattooed onto their skin. I found this really interesting actually… After plucking their eyebrows for so many years, it seems that the hairs just stopped growing back and they have random spaces that just look awkward. The “tattoo artist” fills in those spaces to make your eyebrows look full again. The permanent eyeliner makes your eyes POP without having to spend time each and every day. It looks really great and what a time saver!

But is it really worth it? What are the risks involved?

How do you feel about this simple procedure? Would you ever get this done? I wonder if I would do this one day…

Pam vs. Dress – Dress Wins!

September 23, 2009

The Dress:

I’m obsessed with the exposed zipper lately, I just can’t seem to get enough, so when I saw this dress at H&M I knew I had to try it on. It went on smoothly and looked awesome! Price check: 39.99! Sold!! I couldn’t predict what was about to happen, but as I went to casually remove this dress from my body it wouldn’t budge. Did I gain 10 pounds from the 2 minutes before? I squirmed and wiggled- nothing!! I literally unzipped the dress in half and the beautiful exposed zipper just kept digging into my skin. Luckily, after quite a fight, I managed to get it off. Looking all disheveled and defeated I exited the dressing room, head down in shame. How humiliating!! And after all this, I honestly still contemplated buying it. Psychotic, I know.

The Aftermath:

Have u ever gotten stuck in a piece of clothing? Did you imagine having to tell the sales woman that you needed the jaws of life to remove it? What’s your most embarrassing dressing room story? Who won?

Get Gossip Girl Style for Less: Serena

September 22, 2009

I was going gaga over Blake Lively’s (Serena’s) vest in last night’s episode of Gossip Girl, she looked so cool! From the pink tie-dye fringe vest, to the edgy fringe necklaces, I died! Turns out the vest is from a company called Chelsea Flower, but from the looks of it, it is nowhere to be found! Tear!

The Emmys: The Bold, The Beautiful and The Just Plain Bad

September 21, 2009

This might have been my fav of the night! LOVE the color and it was different…nothing like anything else on the carpet…

Bold colors were seen all over Red Carpet. Real statements being made with reds, purples, blues and metallics

Pale colors looked amazing also:

What were they thinking?

It was honestly hard for me to look at Leighton Meester, she took it all WAY too far…with the knotted shoulder pads, to the messy hair to the almost clown-like makeup…And as for Mila Kunis, that dress looks like it has eaten her alive, not a wise choice. OOOPS

Olay is on a Roll!

September 18, 2009

First off, I was literally jumping up and down when my first product assignment from Yahoo! Shine was delivered. I ripped open the box and was so excited to see what was inside. I’ve been seeing some serious age lines around my eyes lately and I’ve been meaning to pick something up to minimize this clear sign that I’m getting older, so this was perfect. I took a quick look at all 3 products and was most attracted to the “Olay Regenerist Anti-Aging Eye Roller” (who wasn’t). It’s certainly gimmicky, but I fell for it’s innovative look and put it to the test.

It was so entertaining to actually use the product. One (awkward) click and you are ready to apply. The cream that is dispensed from the 3 metal rollers feels cool on the skin and it was fun to massage my eyes (each one for 30 seconds), although it was a little messy…

I was having so much fun with it that my boyfriend joined in, no joke! He used it every night I did. Even though it was engaging, neither of us can really say it worked. So, do I recommend for a quick feeling of coolness on my skin and a fun product to use? Yes. But if you want serious results, I’d say try something else, especially since I find the price tag of $23 to be a tad expensive for a drugstore brand.

Get this look: Alexa Chung

September 17, 2009

I’ve been doing a lot of shopping lately, and I really need to slow down, but I’m finding so many great deals, they’re so hard to pass up! I bought a studded dress in H&M yesterday and happened to have purchased a boyfriend cardigan from Target a week or so ago (the sleeves roll up to show the pinstripe just like Alexa’s). When I saw this picture, I was sure she had been shopping with me!

Check out how to get this look for less!
Studded Dress, H&M, $49.99
You have to go to the actual store, H&M doesn’t have an online store- what’s the deal with that? Also, when I walked into the store they were handing out a buy 1, get 1 half off coupon- that’s half off ANYTHING in the store! If I were you I’d run there now! Sale goes until Sept 20.

Mossimo Black Boyfriend Blazer- was $29.99, now $24.99
