It was honestly hard for me to look at Leighton Meester, she took it all WAY too far…with the knotted shoulder pads, to the messy hair to the almost clown-like makeup…And as for Mila Kunis, that dress looks like it has eaten her alive, not a wise choice. OOOPS

WANTED: My Little Black Dress

I, like mostly every girl out there, have that one black cotton dress that is the perfect throw on for the days you just can’t get it together in the morning. I have paired this dress with a vest, long necklaces, short necklaces, flat sandals, high heels…the list goes on. This dress can easily be dressed up or down and be worn for work or play. You know the one I’m talking about! I’m not sure what happened, but I cannot seem to find mine. I’ve looked through the racks and racks of dresses I own and it is no where to be found. I get so sad when this happens and now I’m on the hunt for a replacement (if that is possible).

Summer’s Trendiest Sandals: Problem solved for the vertically challenged! (Options for tall gals too)

It’s times like these that I really wish I was of model stature. I love the gladiator sandals and I am especially loving the ones with the ankle strap. I finally tried on a pair this weekend and I was so disappointed. These shoes are NOT made for someone who is 5’1”. I obviously should have known better. They literally cut my entire body in half!! How do you keep up on the latest sandal trend when they just don’t do anything for you? Anyone else struggle with this? I’ll just have to live vicariously through the tall people out there…

I am a self-proclaimed “bargain shopper.” Everything I buy is either on sale or extremely cheap to begin with. I pride myself on my ability to find the new “IT” shoes at a fraction of the designer price, but every gal has got to splurge once in a while. What do you splurge on? Shoes? Jeans? Beauty products? What’s your secret to wearing white?

For me, the warm weather can never come too soon. Not only do I love the spring and summer, but I can’t wait to wear white again! Such a crisp and fresh look. I love the way bold colors bounce right off white, it’s just a show-stopping combination. White pants with a turquoise top, white dress with daring colored accessories or a white skirt with playful sandals; the opportunities are endless.

One thing that puts a damper on all of these wonderful options is that no matter how hard I try, I end up completely dirty by the end of the day. It’s been costing me a fortune in dry cleaning already and it’s only the middle of June! Am I just such a slob or is this a common thing

Sexy or comfy? – What’s most important to you?

I had a wedding this past Friday night and all I knew was that I wanted to look sexy. I’ve been working out…feeling good…and wanted to show off all of my hard work. I found an incredibly sexy BCBGMaxazria dress in Loehmann’s for $90- it was exactly what I was looking for. Only problem was…I could barely breathe. It had boning in it which made it feel like a corset. Yes, it was sucking me in in all the right places, but how was I going to eat the franks in the blankets and drink wine if there wasn’t even room for air?

I battled for the rest of the week about what to do…tried it on for friends who LOVED it (yea, because they weren’t the ones who would have be constricted all night) and went shopping around town for something still sexy, but more practical. I ended up going with this blue Banana Republic dress…paired it with a pair of very high heels and delicate silver earrings and I felt great, plus I had plenty of room to eat, drink and dance all night.

What do you prefer? Looking sexy with a little discomfort or going for something that also looks great, but allows you to live a little? OR is it possible to have the best of both worlds?

Shocking Style Steals: The perfect summer outfits for under $50!

I decided to take a look in Old Navy yesterday and to my surprise there were tons of really cute dresses, shorts and sandals. I haven’t shopped in Old Navy in ages, so I figured…why not experiment. I got an arm full of clothes and headed to the dressing room, figuring nothing would look cute at all, but to be honest, everything was great! It was hard to choose just 1 item, so, I allowed myself to purchase 1 outfit (dress, sunglasses and sandals)…all for a whopping $48.50! There were so many cute outfits I could have come up with for under $50 as well…take a look!
