Your new favorite shirt is on sale (trust me…)!

January 28, 2010

I currently own this Urban shirt in black and it is one of the best investments I’ve made on a clothing item. It comes down perfectly low on the neckline and is longer in the back than it is in the front, which gives it a great flow! You can tuck it in, let it hang out, it’s up to you! The good news is that they are on sale for $30!!!  I want one in every color. Seriously, it’s hard to choose just one…melon, purple, turquoise, pale yellow, white, black. Go grab a few, you won’t regret it!!

You can pair this shirt with just about anything!

Eyelash Curler Plus Some…

January 26, 2010

I’ve never used an eyelash curler, but while changing my beauty routine, I figured, why not take the plunge. I didn’t think it would make much of a difference, but it really does!

I bought this “starter/travel” eyelash curler gadget from Sephora and for $5, it doesn’t only curl your lashes, but it has an eyelash brush and comb attached. I can’t wait to throw this into the beauty gift bag that I’m planning for a special someone’s birthday (don’t want to ruin the surprise). Gift bag will also include some blush, mascara and my new favorite moisturizer

Do you use an eyelash curler? Do you think this is a crucial part of your routine? Would you like a “beauty gift bag” for your birthday presnt?

Totally give it a try, you have nothing to lose! Let me know how it goes!

Give the Cold Shoulder!

January 25, 2010

I was out shopping the other day and got annoyed – my eye always goes to the same old thing – tops for work, navy blue, cardigans in every shape, size and color…and I decided that it was time to switch it up! What new pieces do I want to add to my closet that won’t mimic everything else next to it? THE CUTOUT SHOULDER. I love this look because it is both comfortable and sexy AND you can find so many variations of it for under $100!

I just purchased this one by Splendid and I can’t wait for it to arrive in the mail!

I’m hoping to pair it with my new skinnies for my bday celebration in a few weeks.

Do you like this look? Would you wear it for both work and play?

Orgasm…it’s not what you think!

January 15, 2010

It’s my new favorite blush by NARS! I was inspired my Kim Kardashian’s everyday GLOW and I wanted it for myself! Yes, I know she has a makeup artist, wears fake eye lashes, the whole nine…but we can get this look too!

I seem to  get very frustrated when it comes to cosmetics. I don’t experiment, I stick to the basics, and then get upset when someone else’s shimmery eye shadow looks so much  better than mine! I had a really great experience today with a NARS consultant at Bloomingdales in NYC (Heyy David). He really took the time to understand my needs and was honest about what worked and what didn’t, which is VERY hard to find. He wasn’t trying to just sell me anything…he wanted me to be comfortable with what I walked out with.

Thing is, I’m not getting any younger and it’s time to start wearing foundation, using eye cream and putting more time into my beauty routine. Here’s what I left the counter with. Yes, I spent more money than I was planning on (still stayed under $100), but I feel confident about my choices and I’m sure I’ll get so much use out of each of these products! I can’t wait to test them all out in the morning! MAKEOVER!!!

NARS Concealer in Honey ($22): I’m really self-conscious of the dark circles under my eyes and this is more of a peach tone than yellow, it blends really nicely.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation ($42): I’ve never worn foundation because I’m afraid of the cakey look and weighed down feeling, but this foundation is very light and gives my skin a nice shine (much nicer than the powder I’ve been using).

NARS Orgasm Blush ($25): This blush gives me that glow I’ve been looking for! It picks up the natural tones of my skin and gives me  a “pinched cheek” look. It’s honestly the best blush I’ve tried.

With these 3 items, my base is totally taken care of. I  have plenty of eyeshadows and eyeliners (from MAC) to play around with for now! A little bronzer (I go with Bobby Brown) and lip gloss and I’m good to go!

It’s all about feeling confident and putting your best foot forward and now I’m ready to do just that!
