It’s cold out there, so long sleeves and covered legs are a definite must, but if you still want a sexy edge, a touch of black lace is the way to go! So many options for such a classic touch to a simple LBD, your favorite blazer or as an accessory to a simple dress…

There was a huge snow storm in NYC this weekend and in any other situation, I would have put my most comfy sweatpants and sweatshirt on, cozied up on the couch with hot chocolate and watched endless amounts of Dexter and Mad Men, but Saturday was not like every other day…one of my oldest and closest friends, Michelle, got engaged (congrats, Mich!) and it was time to celebrate!! Michelle chose the elegant Hudson Hotel (Library Bar) for this occasion. I had a dress, tights and booties ready to wear, but when I looked out the window, I realized that if I wanted to come home with all my bones in tact, this outfit wasn’t going to cut it…I ended up going with a silky top and cardigan, black skinnies and grey flat boots. I gracefully slid on ice the second I walked outside (happy I wasn’t in heels)…yikes!
What would you have worn for this special occasion in such treacherous weather?
What I wore… Would you have gone casual also?

For the Holidays, my parents got me a few little things and a nice, crisp $100 bill. I have tons of things on my wish list (all exceeding this $100) like J Brand Skinny Jeans ($189), Tory Burch Aviator Sunglasses ($175), Tory Burch Flats ($195-$235), and the perfect dress(es) to wear with leggings, perhaps for New Year’s, from Urban Outfitters (about $60-$80 each)…the list seriously goes on and on and on…
Should I splurge for the items that double my $100 limit and add a little extra cash of my own? Or should I stay within my budget and go for a dress or 2 from Urban? What would you do? What are you hoping for during the Holidays?

I knew there was something sleek and different about the jewelry the Entourage crew was sporting this season and now I’ve finally figured out their secret – Robyn Rhodes! Not only is her jewelry seen in Entourage, but it’s been featured in every fashion magazine you can think of and seen on celebrities such as Jessica Alba and Penelope Cruz. Believe it or not, these pieces come at a pretty affordable price! I’m dying for the “Robbie” ring – the color of the stone is incredible and I love the delicate gold wire surrounding it…this ring is going to the TOP of my holiday “need right now” list!
Also, what’s really cool about the Robyn Rhodes website is that you can customize your pieces…you choose the stone, the type of metal and size of the band. It’s really fun and cool; a very different experience. To top it off…if you spend $150, shipping is free!

When does jewelry cross the line from being edgy and cool, to just plain dangerous? One slip and someone could lose an eye with this trend! They look really cool on celebs like Rihanna, Kristen Stewart and the Olsen Twins, but I’m so much of a clutz, I would never trust myself with some of these pieces…
What do you think? Weapon or accessory? Would you try out this trend or does it frighten you as much as it does me?

Ashley is looking fierce. Sexy yet classy. It’s easy to look cheesy in a animal print like this, but I think she is pulling it off eloquently. Simple accessories are key to making this outfit work!
