We’re running out of time, New Year’s Eve is only 1 day away…time to actually commit to those last minute plans. Will you be going to that chic loft party downtown ($125), or the open bar at the W Hotel ($120), having a cocktail party at your apartment with a few close friends (BYOB), or will you be dining in style with your significant other (nothing too fancy)? So many choices…so little time and SO much money to spend (if you choose). Obviously, what you’ve decided to do will reflect the outfit you’re going to wear. See below for some very trendy options that will not break the bank (everything’s under $150), for wherever your night takes you:
Chic Downtown Loft Party or Open Bar at the W Hotel:
Cocktail Party at your apartment:
Dining with your significant other (my choice – I don’t really feel like the hype this year, but still want to do something special and dress up a bit):
What are your plans?? Have a VERY happy new year! =)

It’s cold out there, so long sleeves and covered legs are a definite must, but if you still want a sexy edge, a touch of black lace is the way to go! So many options for such a classic touch to a simple LBD, your favorite blazer or as an accessory to a simple dress…

With the holidays right around the corner, Rent the Runway
couldn’t have come at a better time. Need a unique LBD
for Thanksgiving with the fam
? Or a sexy, head turning dress for the New Year? Now you can have it all and for 90% off the actual price!!
Rent the Runway allows you to rent designer duds for much less! You can search by occasion, designer (such as Herve Leger, Alice & Olivia, DVF), trend, style…
How it works:
1) Find a dress you love…
2) “Schedule a delivery date, and your dress will appear on your doorstep. Next-day and even same-day delivery (if you live in NYC) is available, for last-minute wardrobe crises. And we’ll send you a second, back-up size—just to be safe.” Also, if the item doesn’t fit, you have 24 hours to return it, for no charge (score!)
3) “Put your dress in our handy pre-paid packaging and drop in the nearest mailbox (we take care of the dry cleaning!). “
I mean, honestly, whenever I buy a “special” dress for New Years, I wear it once and it never sees the light of day again. Rent the Runway is actually the perfect option for me (and you?). A $1,500 Herve Leger dress, for only $150!! WHAAATTT??
What do you think? Will you give it a try? I will!!

Two of my favorite looks in 2009 were asymmetrical/one shoulder and the colorblock. From the looks on the runway of BCBG those trends are not going anywhere in 2010. Blocking the colors with prints and sheer is pure genius, the perfect twist to this already great trend. I’m also LOVING all the color and the fact that most of these looks are completely wearable by people like us! No overdone makeup needed, the clothes speak for themselves.
Check it out! What do you think? Which fashion week designs do you like best so far?

Ashley is looking fierce. Sexy yet classy. It’s easy to look cheesy in a animal print like this, but I think she is pulling it off eloquently. Simple accessories are key to making this outfit work!

From what you have read on my past blogs, I’m sure you can see that I own a ton of dresses, but I also have so many that I have not worn in years and some that even still have the tags on them (I know this is awful). A bunch of these dresses haven’t been worn because I’m too much of a wuss to wear heals to work all day and they don’t look cute with flats. But after much research and shopping I found the PERFECT pair at Ann Taylor Loft!*
Ever since the purchase of these shoes I feel like I have a totally new wardrobe…my friends think I went on a shopping spree, but I’m just finally wearing what I haven’t in so long! Who knew that 1 pair of shoes could add so much to a wardrobe?!
What piece in your closet could you not live without? What do you do to spice up what you already own and make it new again?
