The Emmys: The Bold, The Beautiful and The Just Plain Bad

September 21, 2009

This might have been my fav of the night! LOVE the color and it was different…nothing like anything else on the carpet…

Bold colors were seen all over Red Carpet. Real statements being made with reds, purples, blues and metallics

Pale colors looked amazing also:

What were they thinking?

It was honestly hard for me to look at Leighton Meester, she took it all WAY too far…with the knotted shoulder pads, to the messy hair to the almost clown-like makeup…And as for Mila Kunis, that dress looks like it has eaten her alive, not a wise choice. OOOPS

I love the outfits that other people think up that I could never in a million years put together. A striped tank with a pleated skirt? With oxfords and aviators? Huh? I’m puzzled by this combination, which makes me absolutely LOVE it. She looks so chic! I wish I was that cool! Wonder if we’d be able to pull off such an ensemble…girl can try, right?

Take a try with some of these options (Not gonna lie, it was hard to find such a great skirt, for less):

New Fall Trend: Perforated Shoes and Accessories

August 19, 2009

This eye-catching and stylish trend is the perfect way to transition from summer to fall! We’re seeing the perforations in everything from boots, sandals, flats, earrings, handbags…the list goes on. It’s a definite playful, yet edgy twist on these items; something that is sure to be a head turner.

What do you think of this trend? Which item do you like best? I’m obsessed with the gray boots from Nine West!

WANTED: My Little Black Dress

July 6, 2009

I, like mostly every girl out there, have that one black cotton dress that is the perfect throw on for the days you just can’t get it together in the morning. I have paired this dress with a vest, long necklaces, short necklaces, flat sandals, high heels…the list goes on. This dress can easily be dressed up or down and be worn for work or play. You know the one I’m talking about! I’m not sure what happened, but I cannot seem to find mine. I’ve looked through the racks and racks of dresses I own and it is no where to be found. I get so sad when this happens and now I’m on the hunt for a replacement (if that is possible).

Help me choose one! Here’s what I’ve got my eye on…will they measure up? How much would you pay for a new little black dress?

Summer’s Trendiest Sandals: Problem solved for the vertically challenged! (Options for tall gals too)

June 23, 2009

It’s times like these that I really wish I was of model stature. I love the gladiator sandals and I am especially loving the ones with the ankle strap. I finally tried on a pair this weekend and I was so disappointed. These shoes are NOT made for someone who is 5’1”. I obviously should have known better. They literally cut my entire body in half!! How do you keep up on the latest sandal trend when they just don’t do anything for you? Anyone else struggle with this? I’ll just have to live vicariously through the tall people out there…

If you’re short like me…stick to options like these!
They still have the ankle strap but it rests lower on your ankle which makes them more flattering to those of us who don’t have the height.

What do you splurge on?

June 16, 2009

I am a self-proclaimed “bargain shopper.” Everything I buy is either on sale or extremely cheap to begin with. I pride myself on my ability to find the new “IT” shoes at a fraction of the designer price, but every gal has got to splurge once in a while. What do you splurge on? Shoes? Jeans? Beauty products? Handbags? Why do you splurge on this product and not others?

This was my latest splurge and boyyy was it worth it!!! I’m in love!
