I love jewelry that makes a statement. Jewelry that when given as a gift tells the receiver what they mean to you. These charms from Max and Chloe just take my breath away. Making declarations such as “Lucky in Love” with a horseshoe, rose gold heart, and a pearl drop…could anything else say “I love you” better than that? These pieces speak of peace, love, and happiness and are just GORGEOUS. Take a peak and snatch a few for those special people in your life.
In every magazine and on the streets of New York City , I read about and see people in their summer scarves. I understand that a detailed scarf adds some pizzazz to an outfit, but I can’t comprehend the need for one in 70-80 degree weather. Are people really that desperate for a cool accessory? Why not just throw on a necklace or some earrings? Isn’t it hot under there? I couldn’t fathom throwing on a scarf with my flowy summer dress. Anyone else feel the same way? Or different? Am I missing something with this trend?
I’m loving these statement necklaces from Urban Outfitters. Try one of these instead of a scarf.
I’ve been seeing beaded accessories and tops everywhere I turn these days. They bring me back…reminding me of all the colorful beads I used to collect and the necklaces, ankle bracelets and rings I made when I was younger. Maybe that’s why I’m confused by the fact that they are resurfacing now when older. I’m liking it, but it also makes me feel a little immature to put some of them on. On the flip side, what’s so bad about bringing back some good ole’ memories?
Do you like this trend or is it too reminiscent of your childhood to wear it all over again years and years later?
P.S. If you want to try to create some of your own jewelry pieces, there are places all over NYC (and I’m sure in your area too) that have classes that teach you how to be a bead whiz all on your own!
Check out Femme Gems in NYC. It’s fun to get a few friends together and throw a party with wine, hors d’oeuvres and jewelry making!
P.P.S. I’m loving Fiona Paxton…she definitely puts a more mature (and gorgeous) twist to this trend. I also found some knock-offs of her stuff for super cheap in Nordstrom’s B.P. department.
